Businessman Gulam Mahideen Sheikh joins JDU in presence of Vivek Bali

Srinagar: Prominent businessman and noted social activist Gulam mahideen Sheikh on Saturday joined Janta Dal United (JDU) here, the party said in a statement. 

Vivek Bali State General Secretary said that "Resident of Anantnag, Gulam mahideen Sheikh deals with the import and export furniture business and has made his own mark in the field of business community. Besides carving a niche in the field of business. He is known for his immense contribution in the field of social work," the statement mentioned.

On the occasion, Gulam mahideen Sheikh said that he was impressed by the "socio-economic and political ideology" of the JDU. “Besides the developmental agenda, I have witnessed that the JDU leadership values and respects the sentiments of the common people. The brief spell of governance with the development and political accommodation being its hallmark, JDU did a commendable job in its brief stint of last few years,”.

He added that JDU’s progressive agenda and developmental approach motivated him to join the party. “I am confident that more prominent and respectable people of the state including women and the youth would come forward and join the JDU in the coming days to contribute towards the peace, prosperity and development of the state,”
